History

The first company of the TRANSIMEKSA group of companies - "Transimeksa" - was incorporated in Šiauliai in 1994. It commenced operations with freight forwarding. Since 1995 the Company has invested in its own fleet and from 1998 it began to carry goods by sea transport.

Seeking to expand its range of services, the Company started to expand geographically since 2000, establishing subsidiaries in Lithuania, Latvia and Russia.

Currently the TRANSIMEKSA Group of companies consists of 6 Lithuanian and foreign companies.

In 2000 "Transimex" commenced operation in Riga. The core activity was freight forwarding.

In 2001 "Vilniaus Transimeksa" was established in Vilnius. It began its operations with freight forwarding and partial goods carriage from Italy and Germany. Since 2002 an import-export terminal has been operational with a total storage floor space of 4,500 m²; a customs warehouse was also opened.

In 2003 "Transimeksa" commenced activities in Moscow by engaging in partial and full carriage of goods from/to Western Europe and Baltic countries and Russia.

In 2004 "Transim" commenced operation in Kaliningrad. The core activity of this company, which has its own truck fleet, is carriage of freight to Russia and other CIS countries.

In 2006  "Baltic Air Logistics Terminal" ("BALT-Cargo") became operational. Its core activity was carriage of freight by air. The company operates a terminal with total floor space of 2,000 m² at Vilnius International Airport.

All these companies have been established  in order to improve the standard and quality of customer service and to offer all logistics services "from door to door".
